The Gilmer County Adult Detention Center is located on Brett Dickey Memorial Drive, and the person in charge of the detention center is Captain Carol Daves. The jail can house over 100 inmates and is staffed by 27 uniformed officers. Visitation for female inmates and inmates in isolation is on Friday from 9 am to 11 am and 7 pm to 9 pm. Visitation for inmates in A & D dormitories is on Saturday from 9 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 3 pm. Visitation for inmates in C, E, and F dormitories is on Sunday from 9 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 3 pm. Visits will be a maximum of 30 minutes, and visitors must be on a preapproved list. Inmates can only receive one visitor per scheduled day.
