Lawrenceville is a city in the center of Gwinnett County, Georgia and is the county seat of Gwinnett County as well. It is a suburb of Atlanta and is around 30 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. The city was incorporated on December 15, 1821 which makes it the second oldest city in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The courthouse that is currently on the square was constructed in 1885.
