Rockmart, Georgia is located in Polk County, Georgia in the northeastern part of the state, on the Alabama/Georgia border. It was incorporated in 1872 and named for the large amounts of slate in the area. In the 2010 census, the population was 4,199 but estimates from 2016 show that about 100 people have added to that total.
