This letter is to commend the actions and bravery of Deputy Jeff Attison and Deputy Cody Bishop in the line of duty. The circumstances are as follows:

On 03-08-19 Deputy Attison and Deputy Bishop were on duty working patrol. At approximately 2300 hours they responded to 163 Country Cottage Circle, Carrollton, GA in reference to a residence that was full of smoke and the caller was having a hard time breathing. Upon their arrival they found the complainant in a yard stating her husband was still in the residence. Without hesitation and regard for their own personal safety, Deputy Attison and Deputy Bishop entered into the residence in an attempt to locate the complainants husband. Once inside, both Deputies discovered heavy smoke within the residence. Deputy Attison and Bishop found the subject in a bedroom disoriented and unaware what was happening. The individual was subsequently taken outside and the rest of the residence was cleared. Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and were apprised of the smoke in the residence, and where it was coming from by Deputy Attison. Deputy Bishop also made sure the residents received any medical attention needed.

Due to their dedication and willingness to preserve life, Deputy Attison and Deputy Bishop did go above and beyond their duties putting their own lives on the line to save an individual that was unknown to them. These actions were performed in an unknown dangerous environment that could have been detrimental to themselves.

Deputy Attison and Deputy Bishop’s actions are to be commended, and their bravery in the line of duty is to be recognized. Deputies Attison and Bishop are assets to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Carroll County.

Community volunteers and local businesses assisted students in reviewing resumes, filling out job applications, and sitting through the interview process in preparation of entering the workforce after graduation.

For Immediate Release: Local Man charged with Arson and Criminal Damage in Family Violence Incident

(Carroll County, GA) On Monday, March 11, 2019 at approximately 3:00 PM Deputies responded to a residence on Mandeville Road in reference to a domestic dispute involving gun shots and a possible fire. Deputies arrived on scene along with the Carroll County Fire Department and discovered the residence along with several vehicles appeared to have numerous bullet holes and an outbuilding was on fire.

Seth Thomas Lambert, age 38 was identified as a suspect and was located in a residence across the street and was taken into custody without further incident. Investigators determined Lambert used three different caliber weapons and fired over 100 rounds throughout the residence and through the vehicles and destroyed the inside of the residence along with setting the outbuilding on fire.

Lambert has been charged with Arson and Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd Degree under the Family Violence Act. No one was harmed during the incident. Investigator Jackson Lawrence is lead case agent in the ongoing investigation.

Investigator Chris Gilliland traveled to Talbot County, GA this past Friday to deliver supplies to Sheriff Bobby Gates to assist the victims of last week’s devasting tornadoes. Sheriff Gates and his department have been working around the clock to clean up debris and provide shelter to those who have been displaced.

Investigator Gilliland said the destruction was heartbreaking to see in person and the community was so thankful to be receiving outreach from all over Georgia.
