Johnson County Prom goers… None of you are old enough to drink yet and we are in no way condoning you drinking. However, IF you do decide to drink tonight, DO NOT drive… I have 2-3 deputies working tonight. Call the Sheriff’s Office 478-864-3941. A deputy will come pick you up and take you home, but home only. You may get a lecture but at least it’s better than jail or worse. Don’t bring heartache to your family by doing something stupid. If you are in Johnson Co or at least close, call the SO and get a ride. DON’T DRINK & DRIVE, please…

And keep in mind, if you get pulled over and have been drinking, it’s too late. You will still get a ride home, but it will be by your parents from the jail…

Please do not give any personal information out to anyone that calls you saying you have won any money from the Publishers clearing House or any other organization. We have had a local citizen victimized by this today. They will attempt to get you to wire them money. Hang up the phone and don’t talk to these people.

Asking for citizens to please be on the lookout for a newer model White Dodge Panel Van. It may possibly have a Publishers Clearing House sticker on the sides. It was last seen in the Jefferson County area. The individuals in the van are scam artist. It is not Publishers Clearing House. They are telling people that they have won a new truck but that they have to pay the taxes before it is delivered. They may possibly be headed to the Kite area. If anyone sees this vehicle or has contact with the individuals please do not confront them. Just notify the Johnson County Sheriffs Office. 478-864-3941
