Bail and Bondsman

Bail is a process of obtaining release from the police custody for a set amount of money. The bail money is usually 10% of the total money charged for a crime offense. The court will review the crime and decides how much money one should pay as costs. If the bail money set is too high for you, a bail bondsman will come handy. A bail bondsman would post the bail money and charge at least $100 for their services. Others might charge around 10-15% of the total bail money.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office would like to wish Max, a K9 that recently retired from duty, all the best. Max started his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2013. He was trained in narcotics detection and criminal apprehension. He was retired at the end of 2017 after his handler left the Sheriff’s Office. During his time here, Max completed hundreds of hours of training, helped make countless drug arrests and helped apprehend numerous suspects. He was a loyal partner to his handlers and he was dedicated to this department.
When Max retired, his handler was not able to take him home due to unforeseen and personal circumstances. The Sheriff’s Office reached out and the Garcia family welcomed Max into their loving home. It certainly looks like Max is enjoying retirement!
