Each registered sex offender’s information is recorded on either national or state based sex offender database. All these people have been charged with either a kidnapping crime or a sex crime. According to the law, a sex offender is someone who has committed a sex-related crime including rape, molestation, sexual abuse of a minor, child pornography, and sex trafficking. A sex crime is any illegal act that involves forced or coerced sexual conduct against a person. You can identify any sex offender at Liberty County Jail if you navigate to the following link:

The search result will display the latest or primary addresses or block of the sex offender you are looking for. You have to accept a disclosure to access information from the database.

Bail and Bondsman

Bail is a process of obtaining release from the police custody for a set amount of money. The bail money is usually 10% of the total money charged for a crime offense. The court will review the crime and decides how much money one should pay as costs. If the bail money set is too high for you, a bail bondsman will come handy. A bail bondsman would post the bail money and charge at least $100 for their services. Others might charge around 10-15% of the total bail money.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 25, city residents travelling on South Main Street between Glenn Bryant Road and Desert Storm Drive may experience temporary traffic delays.

Installation of a new storm drain along the side of South Main Street is anticipated to begin on Monday, and continue for approximately three weeks.

Installation of the new sidewalks is scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 6 and will last approximately three weeks as well. These sidewalks, all of which will be ADA compliant and have an average width of 5 feet, will increase pedestrian access and safety within Liberty County. The anticipated completion date for all work is August of this year.

During this project, area residents should expect to see traffic control elements such as row clearing (removal of trees), site preparation and construction. These elements may result in slower travel times along these streets. The public will be kept up-to-date on the progress of construction as sections of the project are completed at cityofhinesville.org. Area residents are also encouraged to sign up for the Notify Me application on the City of Hinesville’s website (cityofhinesville.org) to receive news alerts regarding issues in Hinesville, including any future road closures for this project.

For more information, contact Whitney Morris, City of Hinesville Public Relations Manager, at wmorris@cityofhinesville.org or 912-408-3569.

What a fun night! We had a great time at Liberty Chamber Business After Hours and the folks at Ameris Bank and Panera Bread. We are so very grateful to The Ameris Bank team who worked hard to raise over $11,000 for our Sheriff’s Outreach account! These funds are used to benefit our community and the citizens of Liberty County. It’s used to feed the hungry during the holidays and put presents under the tree for needy children and families. We also donate to various events throughout the year like, our back to school rally’s and are able to put on our annual Sheriff’s Youth Camp. We want to thank everyone who donated and shared this night with us.
