The part of the city that is in Harris County is part of the Columbus, Georgia Metropolitan Area and the part that is in Troup County in the LaGrange, GA Micropolitan Statistical Area. During the 2010 Census, the population of West Point was 3,474 but in 2016 the population was estimated to have grown to 3,766.
