Mountain City is an incorporated town in the center of Rabun County, Georgia, the northeasternmost county in the state of Georgia. Mountain City is particularly unusual because it straddles the Eastern Continental Divide in a deep gap in the Blue Ridge Mountain front. During the 2010 census, the population of Mountain City was recorded at 1,088; however, estimates in the year 2016 show a decrease in the population to 1,075.
