Nahunta is a city in Brantley County, Georgia in southeastern Georgia. It is the county seat of Brantley County and is part of the Brunswick Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area. During the 2010 census, the population was recorded at 1.053; however estimates from 2016 show a decrease in the population to 1,048. Nahunta is an important crossroad as U.S. 82 and U.S. 301 intersect in downtown Nahunta.

Nahunta has a livability score of 79, which is considered to be “extremely livable” and is above the average livability score in the state of Georgia of 67 and higher than the average livability score in the United States of 66. In 2010, he was arrested on felony charges of terroristic acts against the Reverend Robert Thomas who is another member of the Nahunta City Council. In 2010, Mayor Jacobs also approved the right of 48 KKK members to march through Nahunta passing out propaganda, although there is no evidence that Mayor Jacobs supported such speech or simply supported the First Amendment and the right of the KKK to free speech.
